MetaMatcher™

The core of Morpho’s biometric solutions is the MetaMatcher™, the fastest and most accurate matching software on the market. It enables all types of biometric comparisons with other biometric databases (fingerprint, palm print, etc…).

Using a highly distributed architecture, MetaMatcher is a software-based solution (no hardware dependency) that demonstrates the very high speed and accurate matching capability that is now achievable on standard computer hardware. The MetaMatcher can handle databases of several hundred million of biometric records. A single laptop running MetaMatcher software can match more than three (3) million personal records per second using ten fingerprint records and more than two (2) million faces per second. 

This is a tremendous improvement over the classic centralized architecture that requires a higher network bandwidth.  It also eliminates the risk of bottlenecks when processing very high throughputs.  Consequently, MetaMatcher’s functionality can be extended beyond the constraints of centralized architectures.

How is this speed possible?  We have achieved this extraordinary matching speed by using intelligent database exploration and optimized multi-step matching algorithms, while placing the templates in live memory. In addition, multi-core architecture, hyper-threading and other features, such as pipe-lining, have all contributed to increased speed.
